Rather than using the numerous reserves and resources of UC, Yudof proposes tuition hikes and devastating cuts to the teaching, research and vital services on campuses. UC deserves leadership working to maintain it's mission, not destroy it. Make your voice heard and vote “No-Confidence” in Yudof!

The UC Regents say further tuition increases of 25% may be necessary and that UC employees, many already living in poverty, must take pay cuts of 4% to 8%. These options are not acceptable!

Come to the town hall meeting to hear alternatives to these drastic proposals.

UC administrators are facing state cuts that could be covered by billions in reserves, using fundraising, other sources of UC income or through pay cuts to highly paid employees. Read more »

CUE SUPPORTS UPTE May 6 STRIKE

Dear CUE Brothers and Sisters,

UPTE, the union that represents technical and professional employees, will be on strike on Wednesday, May 6 to protest unfair labor practices by UC, such as bargaining in bad faith, retaliating against bargaining team members, refusing to provide information vital to bargaining such as wage costing and pension plan data.  UPTE has been working without a contract since July 1, 2008. CUE is doing a picket in front of the department where Ellie Corley was laid off.  (33 years of seniority, the only Admin I in the dept where they recently hired 5 managers...)  She has attended a portion of every bargaining session in the Bay Area and makes it to every rally, CUE's or other unions, just to give you an idea of her dedication.
